這裡所謂的「外食」，指的是到外頭用餐。英文表達「外食」，常見方式至少有以下三種：

一. 用eat a meal out

Sometimes I eat a meal out.

( 我有時會去外食。)

It's rare for them to eat a meal out together.

( 一起到外頭用餐，對他們來說很罕見。)

二. 用eat out

She ate out with him last night.

( 她昨晚跟他一道去吃館子。)

Let us eat out and try different kinds of food.

( 我們到餐館去嘗嘗不同的食物吧。)

三. 用dine out

When shall we dine out together at the restaurant ?

( 我們何時一起去這家餐廳用餐 ? )

It will cost you much money to dine out there.

( 到那裡用餐，你得花不少錢。)
