你若是在歐美，難免會碰到有人問你時間的場合，或者你問人家時間的場合。

先來說「問時間」。最常用的問法是：

What time is it?

( 現在是什麼時刻? )。

客氣一點的問法是：

Could you please tell me the time?

( 能否請你告訴我時間? )

再來說「報時間」。最簡便的報法是：

It is two forty.

( 現在是兩點四十分。)

It is three twenty.

( 現在是三點二十分。)

It is four twenty-five.

( 現在是四點二十五分)

It is ten pass one..

( 現在是一點十分。)

若是報「幾刻鐘」時：

It is five fifteen.

( 現在是五點一刻。)

It is sixforty-five.

( 現在是六點三刻。)

若是報「幾點半」時：

It is eightthirty.

( 現在是八點半。)

It is eleventhirty.

( 現在是七點半。)

若是報「整點」時：

It is exactly nine o’clock.

( 現在是九點整。 )

It is ten.

( 現在是十點整。 )

特別要注意的是報「十二點整」時：

It’s twelve noon.

( 現在是中午十二點。)

It’s twelve midnight..

( 現在是半夜十二點。)
