2007年4月上旬，媒體報導年方19的英國新世代靈魂歌后喬絲史東（Joss Stone）跟40歲的製作人拉菲爾賽迪克（Raphael Saadiq）狀至親密。她的一位歌手朋友還對人說：

The pair are really an item.

（這一對確是情侶。）

英文item一字通常作「項目」解，在此卻作「情侶」解。an item意思是「一對情侶」。再來看以下例句：

They are really an item. They have dated for several months.

（他倆真的是一對情侶，兩人已約會了好幾個月。）

If the two are not an item, why do they go out together so often ?

（這兩人若非一對情侶，為何他們卻那麼常一起出去 ? ）

All are not an item that hug together.
