英文gym一字相當於gymnasium，意思是「健身房」或「體操館」。隨著現代人對健康的日益重視，gym這個英文字也變得日益時髦。home gym意思是「家庭健身房」，好萊塢明星的豪宅裡常有這種設備。一般人上健身房的方式，則以繳費當「會員」者居多。再來看以下例句：
