這裡所謂的「始終」，意思是「自始至終」。英文表達「始終」，常見方式至少有以下三種：

一. 用from beginning to end

I didn't see him from beginning to end.

( 我始終都沒看到他。)

She kept silent from beginning to end.

( 她始終都保持緘默。)

注： 以上兩句的beginning和end都是當名詞用。

二 . 用from start to finish

He worked hard from start to finish.

( 他始終都在努力工作。)

He stayed with us from start to finish.

( 他始終都跟我們在一起。)

注：以上兩句的 start和finish都是當名詞用。

三. 用all the time

She was dating him for the last six months, and her mother knew it all the time.

( 最近6個月她跟他約會，她媽媽始終都知道。)

Throughout June and July, he didn't appear all the time.

( 從7月到8月，他始終沒出現。)
